Karla Guerrero is an estate planning and tax associate attorney for The Wright Firm, L.L.P., who works primarily from our Dallas office. Ms. Guerrero joined the Firm in October 2017. Ms. Guerrero has focused her practice in probate, estate planning, and trusts, as well as tax law.
Ms. Guerrero obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Government and Spanish from The University of Texas at Austin and proceeded on to Loyola University Chicago School of Law for her legal education. Ms. Guerrero developed a passion for estate and tax planning while attending courses on the subject in law school. During law school, Ms. Guerrero interned in the Tarrant County Probate Court No. 1, in addition to participating in the school’s Business Law and Tax Clinic, in which she assisted clients in forming business entities and helped low income taxpayers settle their disputes with the IRS and negotiating with the IRS Appeals Office.
After graduating law school, Ms. Guerrero worked in the Dallas area as a financial planner for a multinational financial counseling firm where she provided comprehensive tax planning, estate planning, and financial and retirement planning. As a financial planner, Ms. Guerrero worked exclusively with high net worth individuals to prepare tax returns, create tax efficient estate plans and to advise on numerous other issues related to investments, retirement and even charitable giving.
Outside of the office Ms. Guerrero enjoys traveling, camping and practicing her marksmanship skills on the shooting range. She also enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, antiquing, and volunteering at local animal shelters.
