Victor Rivera is an associate with the firm. He received his Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences degree from Midwestern State University, where he majored in Political Science and Criminal Justice. Victor received his Master of Business Administration degree from the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University. Victor also received his law degree from Texas Tech University School of Law. While at Texas Tech's School of Law, Victor was active in the Student Bar Association, serving as the Senior ABA Representative all three years. He was also the Vice President of the newly formed Tech Law Military Association for two years, and was the Attorney General for the National Latina/o Law Student Association. Victor also had the privilege of serving on two National Moot Court teams and one National Mock Trial team. In one of the moot court competitions, Victor and his partner placed third in the regional competition and ended as one of the top eight teams on the national level.
Prior to joining the firm, Victor was an associate attorney with Miller, Johnston, Blakley & Associates, LLC, in Amarillo, Texas, where he focused on family, immigration and juvenile law. In addition to practicing law in Amarillo, Victor was a part-time instructor at West Texas A&M University, where he taught Introduction to Business Law. Victor has also worked for Boatwright & Hamilton, LLP in Lubbock, Texas, where he specialized in DWI defense and appeals. Prior to becoming an attorney, Victor was a police officer for the City of Fort Worth, where he served for five years. During his time at Fort Worth police department, Victor was a Field Training Officer and worked for two years on the Crime Response Team (formerly known as Zero Tolerance). Victor is also a former solider of the U.S. Army.
Victor's primary practice is family law, including divorce, child custody modification and enforcement, child support and adoptions. He also handles all areas of criminal defense, from misdemeanors to felonies, with a special emphasis on DWI defense. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the American Bar Association, and the Hispanic National Bar Association.
Victor is fluent in Spanish.
